Sydney Bernice Sweeney was born in Spokane, Washington on September 12, 1997. Her mother is a lawyer and her father works in the medical field. She has a younger brother named Trent with whom she was raised in northwestern Idaho along the Washington border. She attended Saint George’s School in Spokane where she was active in athletics. She found an interest in acting after auditioning as an extra for a film shoot taking place in the Spokane area. Presenting a five-year business plan, she managed to convince her parents to temporarily move to Oregon so she could audition and book commercials. They eventually relocated to Los Angeles when she was 14 years old.
